I know you can't believe it. 99p for 5 sardines!! Well you can now, because at Aldi they are there and ready to be eaten.
I have always tried to stay off fish; I grew up pescatarian and then I started eating meat for a few years then went fully vegetarian but I couldn't cut out the fish. I believe fish is the number one healthiest things you can eat. It has oils and nutrients that are essential for us to be strong and healthy. I know full well you can get these from other sources that isn't harming animals BUT my history with a lack of iron makes me really cautious about where I get certain vitamins from.
But you may be asking: Annie those sardines look so delicious how did you cook them?! Isn't it all so fiddly?! Well no its not. Aldi provide you with a silver tray (recyclable) and you just pop them in the oven or grill for the allotted time and there they are! I accompanied mine with rock salt and lemon but some come with herb butter.
Food photography sometimes means photographing your dinner or tea (even if it annoys your boyfriend). I chose a nice clean looking plate with the blue accents to keep with the fish in the ocean theme. I also tried different ways of arranging the fish which I think compliment them quite well.
Working from home never gets easier. Sometimes you feel like a caged animal, especially today. But when you love doing something so much, like I feel about photography, nothing stops you from getting through it and just getting out of bed in the morning to crack on.
There's something nice about deciding what you do each day. So if I want to photograph fish one day and a smoothie the next then that is my choice!
What I would like is for some suggestions as always!
